On the third day of October in the year 1574, Leiden was relieved by the Geuzen. Because of this, there will be festivities in all of Leiden on the 2nd and 3rd of October! To follow the tradition, we will be eating hutspot on the 2nd of October, prepared by yours truly – and it’s free for all members! Sign up via the form if you want to join!
What: eating ‘Hutspot’, a traditional Dutch stew with carrots and onion, with gravy and sausage on the side.
When: 2nd of October, from 17:30 till 18:45 latest.

After eating hutspot, we will head towards the Taptoe, a march where all the associations celebrate the relief of Leiden and show the spectators how much fun they are. That is why we will join the march – dancing!
We will be dancing ballroom standard, kizomba and salsa, all the way through Leiden. Every pair will get a little decoration to fit the theme of the march, which is ‘A string of light through Leiden’!
What: dancing salsa, kizomba and ballroom standard through Leiden in a march with other associations!
When: 2nd of October, gathering 19:00, (leaving 19:15 as a group) march from 19:30-21:00.
Where: Gathering in front of the Pelikaanhof (march starts from the Kaasmarkt)
How: You can send a text or email to the board to indicate that you’re joining, but this is not mandatory.
