Dear members, December has started already again, can you believe it? The last month of the year. While everybody is getting into the Christmas moods already your board is still working very hard to make sure this last month will be just as awesome (or even better) than all the ones before! The Festijn, our party commission, is organising a party again! On the 29th of November they will turn one of the rooms in Grand Café De Burcht, in the very heart of Leiden, into a proper farm with plenty of drinks, music and of course room to perform your dance moves. And if you're in need of some fresh air, there's a little courtyard where you can cool down for a minute - or simply gaze at the stars in the night sky. First drinks are free for all guests! Dear members, SpelenderGrijs is an organisation that operates in multipile cities and also in Leiden. They organise a variety of events together with students for the elderly people in nursing homes. Examples of these activities are short lectures, workshops and performances. This is also a way to prevent loneliness and bring older and younger people together for conversations and discussions. This is of course a great initiative and SpelenderGrijs is still looking for students with a talent for dancing, no matter which style you do. Besides getting a wonderful experience you would also get a small reward. If you sign up to help you will be asked to organise an activity at one of the nursery homes once in a while. Dear members, The next General Members Assembly will take place on 17 November at Café De Keyzer. You have received a formal invitation through email already. In this General Assembly, we will, among other topics, discuss the financial plans from the former as well as the current board and motions that have been sent in by some members. Is it not possible to attend the General Assembly? By writing, authorize someone else to vote for you in order to let your vote count. It is important that with this authorization, the name, date of authorization grant, name and signature of the person giving the authorization, and the date of the plenary meeting are visible. Dear members, October has already started again! The first month of the academic year has already passed, time flies when you're having fun! Yesterday we already celebrated the Leids Ontzet together by eating hutspot and going into town afterwards but we've got more activities planned for you in October: 9 October: Committee interest drinks 11 October: Social Dancing 14 October: Etiquette workshop 19 October: Constitutional Drinks 23 October: First years dinner 25 October: Social Dancing 27 October: Leidance party: October fright fest! September 29 we had our first party of the year! The party was organised by our party comission Festijn and the theme was Black & White. It took place in the USC and we had two rooms, one for ballroom and one for salsa, bachata and kizomba. This party wasn't your typical dance party because we managed to spice it up a little! We even danced to Bizzey and Yung Felix. When the party finished at 01:30 we didn't want to stop yet and we still had about 3 "this time really the last one"-songs. Luckily everybody helped to clean up and make everything look like nothing ever happend, thanks to your help we could leave the USC on time, so thank you all for helping! It was an amazing…

As the new academic year has started so has the new Leidance board! September the first they took over from the old board during the GA. We as new board are super excited to have started and we are working really hard already to set some amazing activities for you all! In September there will be Monthly Drinks (6sept), social dancing (13&27sept), a movie night (22sept) and even a part organised by Festijn (29sept)! So save the dates and come around! We hope to make it an amazing year with many more activities, parties and workshops.
